Remember Etch-A-Sketch?

This is how I spent some  way. too. much. of my afternoon...

Making virtual snowflakes.

Yes, me... the one who has complained

{maybe once or twice}

about being so busy with "The Move"!

That's right folks... I didn't even get "crafty" enough to actually get out the paper and scissors. These are all done on the computer. It was just like using an etch-a-sketch.

Yup... it's was just me goofing off. I have to say that it was fun... I needed a break.

Southwestern to me.

Like a New Mexico snowflake.

This of course is for

Valentine's Day.

I tried to make Shamrocks

for St. Patricks Day.

Then I realized that a Shamrock has only

three leaves and a Four Leaf Clover has...

well you know. Duh!

Anyway... If you can do any better, 

then go for it... and why not make a

few Leprechauns while you're at it!

(Can you tell by my feistiness that this is

the one that took up most of my time?)

I'm not getting that much done... not having much fun... and don't have that much to share.

But that's all gonna change!!!

I want to join in on Gina's Transformation Thursday, even though I am cheating just a bit by not really having a totally completed transformation to share. Maybe my change in attitude is transformation enough!?

I am done with feeling down about having to move. I will look at this as an adventure... a new chapter in my life. I can do this!

So I'm gonna get crackin'...

My "to do list" for this week is to finish painting the master bathroom's three doors, the trim, two vanities, and the dresser that goes in the closet. 

So far only the top has been painted.

Hubby came back home for Christmas and painted the bathroom walls and ceiling a nice semi-gloss vanilla. They were the same neutral color as the rest of the house... not too terrible, but it was FLAT paint! It just sucked up all the light and was full of shadows. 

The newly painted side is on the left.

Looks like Hubby forgot to "cut in" before rolling on the new paint. (The door and trim will be painted a bright white so that they will stand out more)

The closet was especially dark. This picture shows the new  paint. I also had him remove some sections of the clothes red. I will show you why next week.

You are going to like what I've done!

Have I mentioned that I hate can't stand... painting?! I just get so frustrated. My DD said it is just because I have a cheap paint brush.

So, tonight I went out and got a quality paint brush. This was the best that Lowe's had. I even splurged on a three pack!

Just kidding...

I got one of these little short, stubby handled guys. It is SO much easier for me to use. The long handles make my hand so tired and I just don't have good control.

Have you ever used one of these?

I also got a  3" brush and some nice skinny foam rollers for the cabinets. Hopefully this project will be finished by week's end and I can show you next week.

HELP!

Okay... so this is NOT my garage...

I can't even take a picture of mine...

because I can't find my camera!

My garage looks like this. It has been totally cleaned and organized THREE times since November. The inside of the house is not much better... well maybe a little.

I am in the Third Round... and  feeling like I'm gonna get knocked out soon. Will I have what it takes?

Getting ready for a move during the holidays is no picnic! Between sorting, organizing, tossing, and packing (all normal things for preparing to move), I also had to decorate for the holidays and entertain House Guests.


This is the third time that I have totally cleaned, then demolished and cleaned again! Seems that every new project involves moving ONE room's content to ALL THE OTHER ROOMS IN THE HOUSE. Then I have to get it all put back for my company, or husband's visit home, or just being able to function on a daily basis.


That's right.... he is already in the Palm Springs area. He came home for Christmas... to help get the house ready to sell. He is gone again, so now I am putting all the rooms back in order... for the THIRD time. Not to mention pack up all the Christmas stuff...


Hopefully I can get the house ready for the Realtor to visit and let me know what the market price should be. Not looking forward to that. Only because I know it may  will not be what we paid back in 2006.


I still haven't figured out how to get new carpet or wood flooring installed... while I have a house full of furniture. If we had figured that one out, we would have done it before we had even planned to move. Please, can anyone share how they have done it?


Sorry there are no pretty pictures of anything creative or pleasing to look at. I guess I could take a few pictures of the shambles... that might actually help some of you feel less stressed about your holiday clean-up, or that "down" feeling that sometimes arrives just after all the holiday festivities.  I may just do that... as soon as I can locate my camera!!!


ANYWAY... even though I have been too busy (overwhelmed) to post lately, I HAVE stopped by to visit YOU. You are all the bright spot in my day... er... late (really late) evening, and I thank you for being there for me!   XO
