Midnight Madness at Goodwill

I am proud to say that I'm a card carrying
Goodwill shopper in good standing.
(I have a punch card in every purse.)

But... I never knew about their
Midnight Madness sale.

Did you?

I just happened to be there when they
announced that they were closing at
7 p.m. and reopening from 8-midnight.

Everything (except new items)
would be on sale at 50% off!

It was my lucky day night!

I arrived back at the store at 8:10
and the parking lot was full, and
every shopping cart was taken!

Well, I would just have to make do.

This baby changing table did not catch
my eye at first glance. (No babies here.)

Hmmm...

How about a potting table?

Not really outdoor material...
but for 10 bucks I couldn't pass on it.

It looked like it had never been used,
but was just a little "loose".

So I asked Hubby for help.
He took it apart and glued the dowels.
Then he tightened up the screws.

I remembered some little black wheels
that I never used on the plastic storage
drawers in my craft room closet.

So, Hubby drilled some holes
and popped in the wheels.

For 10 bucks and very little effort...
this is how  I will be using it!

It is now my dish cart/storage table.

This is where I will be using it!

It fits in the closet where I keep my fabrics,
extra linens, and craft room overflow.

Those nifty little wheels allow me to roll
it in and out for easy access. I can also
roll it into the other room when I am
setting up for a tablescape.

What do you think?

I think you are one smart cookie. It works . doesnt take up much room and I like most things on wheels for easily moving from one spot to another. I'm going to goodwill this morning and I be looking for one. Thanks for sharing this great idea with us.

Wow! I want one of these. This piece looks great and look at all the things it can hold! Who would have thought a changing table could do all of this! Great job.
Be a sweetie,

Hey, I never knew about their midnight sale either. Wonder if mine has one! Anyway that was a great find and you changed it into something very useful. Nice going!!!

I think that is one of the most clever remakes i've seen. Never new about the 50% off midnight sale either. I will have to ask at mine and see if they ever do that.

Wonderful idea! I''m going to pass it on to my daughter, who at this moment is using her old changing table in the kids' playroom to store toyw. Now we know it has a future! Linda

Bravo! Just found your blog, and I have found another card carrying member of the Goodwill frequent buyers club. I will never look at another changing table the SAME!

I have the same exact changing table! It's a wood color though and we're still using it but I have long thought that I would transform it into a pastry cart! Great job - now you have made me see the what if!

What a clever idea, it makes use of space that you couldnt have used otherwise.

This turned out so pretty, especially when you filled it with all your pretty things! How convenient that you can roll it around for ease of use! Great job!

The passing of your beautiful pet is too heartbreaking, I lost both my sheltys and only have my moms cat left. The dog you have left is an abdsolute cuttie pie...love your wonderful cart I would have never thought of using it for that, brilliant...thanks my friend for sharing, come for a visit...Phyllis

I use my old changing table for a potting bench like you mentioned. I love the cart idea also. I might just have to find another one at a yard sale of good will. Great idea!

Great idea! And, no, I did not know that Goodwill does a Midnight Madness sale! I wonder if they all do it. I may have to ask next time I'm in mine.

What a great use for a changing table. And a midnight madness sale - I am definitely asking my Goodwill on my next trip.
