Sunday Favorites and a New Dog!

Thank you to Sweet Chari for hosting Sunday Favorites.
Please visit her over at Happy to Design.

Since Easter is just around the corner I wanted to post something that had lots of pretty Easter colors.
I hope you all enjoy Easter!

Yummy for my Tummy???

Scrumptious looking Ice Cream
Sundaes, Brownies, Cupcakes,
Petit Fours and Chocolates!!!

All these goodies are a feast
for the eyes... not the tummies.
That's because they are not real!

My contribution to this weeks
Friday Foodie hosted by Gollum,
are beautiful Faux Food Goodies!

I know that I am cheating a
bit by not showing real food,
but that's better than actually
cheating on my diet!

~~~
Cute as cute can be
Cupcakes!
Don't you just want to stick your
finger into that creamy frosting!?
and...
Little "tea cakes"
or as the French say...
Petit Fours!
~~~

Frosted Brownies
to DIE for!!!

It's almost as if you
can "smell" them!

Boxed up and ready to go.

~~~
There's more...
Ice Cream and little
frosted sugar cookies.
and...
Cake too!!!
~~~

But there always has to be
candies... and chocolate
ones at that!!!

~~~
Even candles... for what's a
table setting without candles?
Scented Cupcake Candles
Hershey's Syrup Candle
Hershey's Jar Candle
~~~

I just LOVE all my pretty little
"Faux Goodies"

I have them all over the house,

... and the best part is that
they never make me fat fatter!

~~~
Note: As of yesterday there is only (1)
set of Easter candies left.
The mixed Pastel and Chocolate set (top).
I am now taking special orders
for Mothers Day!
~~~

Also...

This is our newest fur baby.

His name is Buddy.

He had been waiting for me
at the animal shelter.

Buster was feeling lonely after
the recent loss of his friend.

He really missed his Weezie.
I told him I would get him a buddy.

Dear sweet Louise.

Louise was 15 years old.

Buddy is about 1 year old and
a Lhasa Apso (?).

He loves to run and play.
He is a real sweetheart!

Majolica Dishes

Today I am joining Marty's
Table Top Tuesday.

(see her link at the bottom of page)

I just love all my Majolica type dishes.
Here are just a few that are in our TV room.
This beautiful large platter is made by
Fitz and Floyd. A Tuesday Morning find!

This is a view of a bumped out window ledge
in our TV room where I have placed some
of my Majolica dishes and my very
real looking silk Foxgloves and Snapdragons.

 The other dishes were found at Target
and Ross many years ago.

This little teapot was given to me
by one of my DDs over 20 yrs ago.

This covered duck dish is also by
Fitz and Floyd
and is for gravy or sauces.

This makes such a bright display
in this very deep window.

Aren't the colors just SO pretty?

These beautifully detailed
salt and pepper shakers
are also Fitz and Floyd.

I am not sure what this covered dish
is for, but it is from the same
Fitz and Floyd collection.

What do you think it is for?

These little snapdragons will
actually snap when pinched...
just like the real ones!

See the "moss" on the flowerpots?

This LARGE bowl was found at Ross.
They have these and other companion
pieces there quite often.

I love this handled dish with
the little blue bird.

It holds my "candy stash".

I have more dishes on another window ledge,
shelves and also on the wall in this room.
I will share more with you on another day.
I just love all the bright colors.

Thanks for stopping by.

Midnight Madness at Goodwill

I am proud to say that I'm a card carrying
Goodwill shopper in good standing.
(I have a punch card in every purse.)

But... I never knew about their
Midnight Madness sale.

Did you?

I just happened to be there when they
 announced that they were closing at
7 p.m. and reopening from 8-midnight.

Everything (except new items)
would be on sale at 50% off!

It was my lucky day night!

I arrived back at the store at 8:10
and the parking lot was full, and
every shopping cart was taken!

Well, I would just have to make do.

~~~
This baby changing table did not catch
my eye at first glance. (No babies here.)
Hmmm...
How about a potting table?
Not really outdoor material...
but for 10 bucks I couldn't pass on it.
It looked like it had never been used,
but was just a little "loose".
So I asked Hubby for help.
He took it apart and glued the dowels.
Then he tightened up the screws.
I remembered some little black wheels
that I never used on the plastic storage
drawers in my craft room closet.
So, Hubby drilled some holes
and popped in the wheels.
For 10 bucks and very little effort...
this is how  I will be using it!
It is now my dish cart/storage table.
This is where I will be using it!
It fits in the closet where I keep my fabrics,
extra linens, and craft room overflow.
Those nifty little wheels allow me to roll
it in and out for easy access. I can also
roll it into the other room when I am
setting up for a tablescape.
What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by to visit.
I also want to thank everyone who left
Weezie 1995 - 2010
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
A Rainy Day Read...
Today I'm joining Chari over at
Happy to Design for her
Sunday Favorites.
I will give her link at the bottom.
~~~

I first wrote this back in the Fall when we
were having a spell of rainy weather.

Well... we will be having a few stormy days
again and it made me think of this post.

It is the beginning of our tornado season here
in Texas.  Something I don't look forward to.

You can go here to read about my
experience with tornadoes.

~~~
It's another rainy day here in North Texas.
A very good day to curl up and
read a good book or blog...
(or two... or three.......).
So, If you don't mind...
I thought I would show some brighter decorating this time.  Not that I don't LOVE the warm and cozy Autumn colors.
The following pictures were taken before my
 dining room fell into Fall!
All I need is a cup of tea and biscuits.
The dining table was moved so that I
 could show you the china hutch.
This is my Spring dish collection.
That green display stand is from
HomeGoods. Love that store!
This silk flower arrangement was a gift...
From my dear friends at Ethan Allen in
Northern California, near the Nappa Valley.
It was given to me at my farewell party
when we were moving to Texas.
Here are some of my Mary Engelbreit
pretties. Do any of you like ME?
The Garden Angel is by Jim Shore and was given to me by my daughter Angie.  Her wings fell off... so I guess she is a "fallen angel"!?
DD also gave me the Mary Engelbreit
(ME) grandmother cup,
before her daughter was born.
The cat represents my yellow cat Norton.
He was big and acted more like a dog
than a cat. He followed me everywhere.
I lost him to the Coyotes in California.
This is a favorite picture.
"When a child is born,
so is a grandmother"
I bought another ME picture in our little
town's gift shop in Rancho Murieta, Ca.
(Before we moved to Texas)
It is a private golf community and is built
on a game reserve... or is it a preserve?
It was full of deer, wild turkeys, bobcats,
rattlesnakes, AND coyotes!
The shop owner was an artists and
she painted the flowers on the matting
before she framed it.
~~~

Anyway... My tea is brewed so...
back to my afternoon
of relaxing and reading.

Now... where are my glasses?

~~~
