We have strange weather in North Texas.
It can be in the 75 one day and 35 the next.
We even had SNOW on Christmas!
(it had been 73 degrees the day before)
~~~
It got down to 17 degrees last night with
a wind chill of Zero. We may even
break a 20 year record tonight.
This is our pond this morning.
The ice needs to be removed so that gasses
don't get trapped and kill the fish.
I spent the early morning
melting some of the ice.
I just boiled some water and sat the pot
on the ice until it melted enough to
scoop out of the pond.
You shouldn't try to break the ice because the
noise can sometimes harm the fish.
don't get trapped and kill the fish.
Hope I didn't disturb the fish too much.
Yikees hope the fish are OK and not frozen. Cold here in Altanta too. SO much for the global warming. Now I have moved 11 times so I know what you are going thru. Take a deep breath and take it one day at a time. I hire professional packers and in one day it is all done but I organize and clean out before they arrive. I also tend to eat a whole lot of chocolate getting ready for the big moving day to calm my nerves:) Just don't pack all your blankets until it all thaws out:)
Wow! I'm glad I'm not a fish in that pond. Brrrr! :)
Great info you related here! I had two fish up until last summer. Then lost them. So right now my worries is just the pump. Wow, those photos for this area are strange!
Sounds and looks like you have crazy weather like we do.
Stay warm.
first of all...I can't believe the fish survive the cold temps. Wait till you get to La Quinta...it'll be the polar opposite but wonderful. Going to Palms Springs tomorrow...weather should be just perfect, probably in the mid 70's. And second of all, TJ Maxx...I'm so there .....
Glad you got in on my Texas list!! Stay in touch.
Brrr....it's still pretty cold here.
Thank you so much for looking at my animal blog. It's funny, you're my first follower that's not a family member, or friend lol. I was so surprised to see I had a comment and a follower. The comment section isn't working well. On the post it says I removed your comments. Then this am one of them was back again, and it posted. I don't know what's up with that.
If you like to cook, the most fun thing to do is to turn your favorite recipes into vegetarian. And if your family can't take it every day at first, try going veg 2 days a week and work from there. One of my favorite things to do is to wrap hummus, rice, beans, tiny cherry tomatoes, and avacado or whatever, into a tortilla. Maybe add a little salad dressing too. I could live off of those.
And "baked veggie spagetti." Sautee the veggies in olive oil add jar of sauce, and layer them with the noodles, half veggie cheese, half reg cheese.. and bake.
Well, keep me posted on your New Year journey.
Nice to meet you Jean! I'm a fellow Texan. Diana did a great job getting us all connected. Going to follow along. Hope you don't mind.
