New Furniture For The Greatroom

Shortly after moving to this house
I made a design board.

(click on picture to enlarge... then click again to enlarge some more)

I just loved the whole look!
So I started buying things little by little.

I purchased this great slip covered sofa with down cushions.
Found the lamps and cream shag rug. I also painted some furniture pieces black.
(Still dreaming of the dark wood floor)

I have this charming wingback settee with turned legs
that is just screaming to be slip covered in french script fabric
and a wingback chair to be recovered in painters dropcloth.

It will look just like the design board!!!
But then I got real...

I don't think I will ever make those slipcovers.
The Mr. doesn't feel comfortable on the new sofa... and  those dark floors
would be just too hard to keep beautiful in this dusty desert!

Also the room really would look better with a sectional
because of the placement of the window...
So I started all over.

Well... I have been looking
for a sectional for MONTHS!

Then on my birthday... I found it!
I know it doesn't look that great in this store picture...
but just you wait and see.

It has a neutral "linen look" fabric so it will allow me
to change out the pillows to go with the seasons.
AND... it was 60% off because it was a cancelled special order!!!

I will try to get the room put together and share
some pictures with you as soon as I can.
Check back later this week.

xoxo

Can't wait to see if all when you get it all together. It is always best to think it through and be patient as my 4 yr. old granddaugther says when her daddy is trying to catch a fish! LOL. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Bunny Jean- Yes, Bassett has really improved its quality and designs! I really want that desk/bookcase pieces that I showed on my blog. Their upholstery pieces are such fantastic quality! So who is the manufacturer of this sectional? It looks comfy, even though it isn't a tightback, like you wanted. I went neutral on the pieces I ordered last month. Now, I just need to have someone paint the room- the walls are 20 ft tall! LOL I don't do tall ladders. Heck, I fall off shorter 8 ft. ladders and sprain both ankles. What would happen to me on a tall ladder or scaffolding?!

Bunny Jean -- How lucky for you to find this sectional at such a discount! And to make this discovery on your birthday -- it was meant to be yours. Look forward to varied holiday posts from you showing the special accent pillows and throws you add to bring some seasonal charm to your home.

I've linked to your May Day party. Thanks for continuing to host. You have a wonderful collection of doors and wreaths posted to your Pinterest board.

Sending hugs to you, Debra

Would like to see your room when you're done with it. I need to do one of those boards with the things you want to have on it.
